Why it exists

Finding a masjid in an unfamiliar place is harder than it should be, especially when you want one that follows your own maslak. The information exists, but it lives in people's heads and in WhatsApp groups, and it is not there when you are standing on a road in a city you do not know.

So this is deliberately narrow. It answers one question, where is the nearest one, and gets you moving. Everything else was left out on purpose.

How it is built

One masjid, three things: its name, its location, and a photograph. That is the whole record. Salah timings are optional, and where they exist they usually come from people who pray there.

Every listing is checked by a person before it appears, and each one shows the month it was last checked. There is a page explaining exactly what that involves, at how we check listings.

What it is not

• Not an authority. We do not rule on religious questions or speak for any organisation.
• Not a review site. There are no ratings, no comments and no way to leave a public opinion about a masjid. That is a deliberate choice and it will not change.
• Not affiliated with any body unless a specific listing says so.

Help

The most useful thing you can do is add a masjid we are missing, or tell us when something is wrong. Both take about two minutes, and both go to a person.
